If We Find Them

Have you ever thought about how Christians should respond if we find them?

Okay. So either you don't care or you think it's a nonsensical question. "There are no extra-terrestrials, so we won't ever find them."

Fair enough. There's no objective evidence that there is life "out there" and it's a very "fat chance" statistically. And if there was life, it's just as big a "fat chance" that they'd find us or we'd find them.

So maybe a better question would be... If objective evidence was found for intelligent life "out there," what would our response be? Does the Bible exclude the possibility?

All I know is that they would need to repent and belive in Christ to be saved.

Yeah, I don't think there's such thing as ETs. But if there were, I'm not so sure that they would have any need to "be saved" in the same we we do. All life on earth is touched by the fall (i.e., plants, animals, humans), but only the descendents of Adam are called to believe and be saved. The rest of creation will be baptized by fire and made new - (plants, animals, etc.) Perhaps the ETs would fit in that category.

Just a thought.

(Jim, still looking forward to your amil questions. Also our meeting on Tuesday on evangelistic methodology.)
