What's Happened?

This blog used to be something. WHAT HAPPENED? In all seriousness, I would like to see more discussion back on this blog. So here is my question: Since this is a blog that is about a group of pastors who want to see reformation and revival come to our area, what should we be doing to help see that happen? Or I can put it another way that is far more personal: What are YOU doing to see reformation and revival come to the Rocky Mount/Wilson area (or anywhere else you may be reading this)? Are we really burdened for the city? How can we become active in this endeavor?

I've been thinking about how to revive a good discussion here at the R&R blog.

Good question Randy.

I'm not doing near enough.
I need to pray more.
I need to share the gospel more.
I need to take some bold risks.

What can we do to see reformation and revival come to our community?

1. Acknowledge that only God can bring true revival and reformation and therefore turn away from depending ultimately on human means.

2. Pray. Pray individually, as famililies, as churches, and with fellow ministers.

3. Lead your family well.

4. Lead your church well.

5. Be faithful to preach the Word each and every week.

6. Get in people's homes and share the gospel.

7. Encourage an "invest and invite" approach to evangelism.

8. Find creative opportunities to distribute gospel information into the community.

9. Get together with other Christians who have a heart for this community and dream big together.

10. Be involved in community committees, events, organizations, etc. Write letters to the local paper.

JN,
What is "invest and invite"?
I'm assuming it is just build relationships and invite people to Christ. Is it more than that?

No, that's pretty much it.

The investment is time, energy, and sometimes money into developing meaningful relationships with people who need Christ.

The invite may include invitations into your home, out for lunch, to church services, etc. The ultimate purpose, however, is to invite people to Christ.
